Yes. The Music Media Tribe workshops are suitably aimed at secondary school music students who have a level of proficiency as musicians already.
These workshops are full day and, we also do 1.5 day workshops, depending on the depth the students and teachers want to explore.
We write a song from scratch including music and lyrics in which our special techniques have proven over and over that a minimum of 80% of the students had major contribution to the lyrics. The song is recorded with music and vocals (usually including backing vocals as well) during the one day workshop.
Depending on the level the students are at, if we get everything done and have enough time, we’ll record a video for the song as well.
In the 1.5 day workshops, the second day involves filming a video clip, correct uploading procedures to a YouTube Channel and, we teach students how to promote the song using Facebook and how to sell your music from your own website.
We specialize in teaching Social Media Marketing and how to set up your own website where you can listen to your songs, play your videos and blog about band activity.

We have simplified our copyright regulations so schools can have MORE control over how they use the resources and they can earn money from them. The information below sets out what you can and can’t do. We believe schools should be able to get maximum benefit from the resources we supply.
- We allow full rights for your school to perform the musicals as many times as you wish (within your school only).
- No royalty fees to pay per performance.
- You may charge to see performances to fund raise.
- You may record the songs and sell CDs for Fundraising (for use in your school only).
- This Resource CANNOT be transferred to or be used in another school.
The most important thing is to work out what is your Purpose for recording? Do you want to record live music, use sounds and loops on your computer and/or do you want to use external keyboards and sound modules or perhaps you want to write scores.
Once you know the type of recording software you require, then it’s time to look at which products work with Mac or PC or both and if they’re within your budget range.
I’ve put an eBook together with much of this information and you can download it for free at http://musicresourcesforschools.com/home-recording-studio-essentials-for-songwriters/
